I'm transferring to Tech for my sophomore year. I was hoping to have a little more done to the car before I ended up leaving, but school payments come first

What to know about Lubbock/Texas Tech:

1. The girls are awesome and some of the finest in the nation, getting laid is not a difficult thing to do unless you have a hump on your back.

2. Tech's schools are some of the best available (agriculture, medicine, law, education, architecture, engineering)with the exeption of the business school; it's ranked at the bottom of the third tier nationally and as a business school its not even ranked in the big twelve, has zero MBA recruitment, and is considered the last place to hire talent from by most employers. Many will not even consider a Tech business degree at all. If you are seeking a business degree, this is the last place to consider for one.

3. The weather is very nice about 325 days out of the year, the other 40 days are either too ******* cold, too ******* hot, or too ******* windy with dust storms making it hard to keep a car nicely detailed.

4. Cops do not play games here, and will not hesitate to drag your *** to the cross bar hotel for a PI, get caught with weed or drinking underage and its your ***. Get caught street racing and you will experience hell. Don't do anything to draw the attention of the bacon boys and you'll have a great time.

5. Texas Speed and Performance is located just outside of town in Wolfforth and are some of the nicest and most knowledgable people around when it comes to these cars and motors. Make friends with them.

6. The cost of living is one of the lowest in the state and Lubbock is ranked among the top one hundred places to live in the US, is considered one of the fastest growing cities in the country, and is ranked the 2nd most conservatively populated town/city in the country. If you are a democrat, you will be very lonely and your friends here will consist of socialist professors, homosexuals, and those on welfare. Everyone else is a Republican and very proud of it.

7. The cost of housing is very inexpensive and easy to locate anywhere, you can get anywhere in town inside of 20 minutes.Parking at Tech does suck though.

8. Lubbock is 4 hours away from any other large city such as DFW, but is a one hour plane flight to the same place, and the town has just about anything else you could ask for entertainment wise.

9. Lots of Fbod's and mustangs around, the local dragstrip is moderate but not great, very easy to get to and not strict about safety equipment. Expect a half second to full second slower ET due to elevation and poor air quality. The city streets suck big time, be careful driving through intersections, especially whenever it rains. These turn into small rivers and will quickly take out a motor/car. Make sure your comprehensive is covering water damage.

10. Lubbock is one of the most heavily armed towns in the country, with two of the zip codes here in the top five of concealed handgun licenses held in the state. Good idea not to **** anyone off while here, on the other hand, crime is not high since criminals know that they will be quickly dealt with by the lawfully armed citizen. Tailgating and cutting people off while driving is not a good idea at all.

Have fun!!!!

You got lucky, I spun the tires on my car on 19th and Flint and was pulled over by an off duty cop, he called his boys and I spent a night in jail...I also saw a guy on a bicycle get a ticket for riding through an intersection on a red light.
