Well Gat Damn Now! That car is Plenty Fast!
Congrats to Jayson and the MTI crew, Rick Harper and Dave Lewis. I know they have been working the bugs out of that car for a while now and it seems like all of the hard work has finally paid off. This is one TRUE street car that is not to be taken lightly.

MTI HARPER-Troll makes a pass...
Well, having known MTI's Rick Harper, aka: Harper Troll, Papa Smurf, Harperstein, Squatty-Body, Crotchety Old Fartknocker, and lets not forget his American Indian name --- "Races with Moses".
I too am proud to see he has finally made a successful trip down the track! Normally he and Dave Lewis have used excuses for the ol' Firehawk, such as: "we couldn't run it, because our Geritol shipment hadn't arrived yet...", or, "we couldn't run it, because the nursing home interns were unavailable to go with us...", or, "we couldn't run it, because our Depends Adult Diapers were more full of sh_t than our brains, and we weren't able to empty them before going to the track..." etc. etc.
But now, it appears they've finally taken the car to the track and made a semi-successful pass, w/ no mechanical failures! (other than Harper's ongoing ED issues)
So, I too will chime in with a big "CONGRATS!". It's big, not because I'm giving them props, but rather, because if it ain't big, Dave and Rick won't actually be able to read it w/o their Hubble-sized bi-focals...!!!
Now, hopefully we'll see further progress outta' the Firechicken, since a 9.92 ain't all that stout for a blown, sprayed, Troll-powered V8...
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! RED ALERT has spoken...!

Oh, and by the way, Rick is one of my best friends, and the above slated slam is all in fun...!
Good job Harper, Dave, and the whole MTI crew for building a nice LT1 powered beast!!! Let's see some more!

nice!!! Way to keep those old LT1's alive and running very well Count me in on being a jealous admirer
PS - Jordon's car just had a 350 in it when it was featured in GMHTP... A year later it had a 383 w/ a T76 - then the same 383 w/ a T88 <- that was a fun ride! Especailly on race gas ~ racing supras .

Dave Lewis' car was in GMHTP around 2001, it is a black 95 Firehawk on Fikse Mags. MTI also built the 396 for GMHTP's project vehicle, "Thunder Chicken," a yellow 1993 Formula once owned by the then editor of GMHTP who is now the current editior of Popular Hot Rodding. Thunder Chicken was featured countless times, as it was the project vehicle, it was also featured when the the 396 was refershened at MTI a while back. When Dave Lewis' car was featured in GM High Tech a many years ago, keep this mind, the car had shorties on it. It got Baers and FLP Long Tubes and was making if I remember correctly 749rwhp on a little T-trim and Vortec after cooler, an awesome feat considering it had just a baby CC305 cam. At some point the head gasket blew and now it has a refreshehned 396 LT4 with I believe AFR heads. last time I saw the dyno sheet when they took it up to Sams, as Dave drives this car reguarly on the street it was making mid 900s on the bottle, not bad for a GM 95 LT1 PCM, TH200R4 and a KTRE 12 bolt.
EDIT
I am not obessed with this car, I just have been seeing it since I was 16 and have talked to Dave a great many times over the years as it is a local car and I see the thing all the time, it is a bad *** car and my favortie car to ever roll out of MTI
