Gas MAY go up .15 to .20c a gallon, really havent assesed all the damage yet.....No doubt oil and gas companies AND OPEC are taking advantage of the gas price situation right now, but it is set by the traders.... A cap could easily be out on oil prices, and profits would still be robust. I support Bushs foreign policy but he has NO domestic policy whatsoever....

I just read on FOXNEWS that they forsee the oil going up to $80 a barrel, however onces everything calms down that they see the price per barrel dropping $30+ dollars to maybe as low as $40 a barrel. Granted this isnt going to happen anytime soon but its hope! That came from the OPEC President

Earlier OPEC President Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahd al-Sabah said he would propose the group raise production by 500,000 bpd at its next meeting in september.

OPEC member Nigeria said it would prefer to see an increase of one million barrels per day, while acting Secretary General Adnan Shihab-Eldin repeated the cartel's line that economic fundamentals could not explain current red hot prices.

"Once fundamentals take centre stage we will see the market settle," he said. "Forty dollars a barrel is a floor, but i could see around $50-55."

definitely not happening soon as far as going down. the oil company is going to try to keep it as high as they can for as long as they can so they can make a few extra billion dollars for there few million dollar loss.

Filled up the Tahoe today - $80, went back to top off the Z and as I was leaving the guy was coming out with the big plastic numbers. Funny how I haven't seen a big increase in my dividends with all the oil companies are making.

Yeah so it may get double the gas mileage, its another payment.

the offset of the cost will take so long to recoupe, its pointless.
someone feel free to get technical with economics, I dont have my books with me...
-my .02 on the day.
this obiviously comes from someone who doesn't own a bike.

My bike is paid off...but a bike payment would be no more than $150 a month. It costs me $9 to fill up and I can go for 2+ weeks on that going to and from work..which isn't quite 10 miles a day....you do the math on that one and my bike insurance is approximately $40 a month, for full coverage.. again - you do the math..

If i drive the mustang..it's $20 every 2 - 3 days. The SS is about $20 every week or so depending on how much i drive...

bike
9 x 2 = 18
18 + 40 + 150 (if it you're making payments) = 208

SS
450 (car payment) + 140 (insurance) + 20 x 4 = 750

mustang (paid off)
20 x 10 = 200

again, you do the math

This evening as I left work at 5pm, gas (87 octane) was $2.419 at exit 332 (I35) in Waco, $2.699 at exit 328, $2.419 at exit 325, and $2.619 at exit 323. I filled up at exit 325. Uggh, this is gonna get ugly.

I work at a gas station. we are only allowed to buy 5,000 gallons at a time instead of 9,500. (a full truck load) our station doesn't live on gas, since it's a mechanic shop, and state inspection center, so it's not a big deal to use unless they ration us monthly. however, we have to keep our prices CLOSE to other places, or we will just flat out run out of gas. The owner of my station said 30-40 cents/gallon SOON. Like this weekend. Also, I changed the signs tonight right after close, so they'd be ready to go in the AM 12 cents higher.

It went up 18 cents in gainesville, and my grandmothers husband said it would go up at least 12 tomorrow.. (owns a large station)

I can't believe this ****. Just because 2 friggin rigs are outa commision they jack prices like this.

It takes 3 months before the crude turns to gas at the station. its gouging bullshit.
