This was a HUGE car show last year, and its for a good cause. Its located at the Budweiser plant near the intersection of I-10 East and 610 loop. Maybe we can get a huge gathering of LS1TECH members to show up?
It is our pleasure to announce that the 14th Annual United Way Bud Classic Car Show Benefiting United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast Area will be held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at the Houston Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
The United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast maximizes donor contributions to impact our community through funded programs as well as community and agency support services. United Way funds more than 250 programs run by more than 80 agencies serving Harris, Ft. Bend, Montgomery and Waller counties along with the Bay Area. The businesses and citizens prospering in this great city have a moral obligation to return a portion of our good fortune to our community and neighbors in need.
Auto enthusiasts are encouraged to unite for a good cause by entering the 14th Annual United Way Bud Classic Car Show at the Anheuser-Busch Houston Brewery Saturday, Sept. 10th. All makes, models and years of cars are welcome, with proceeds to benefit the United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast.
"This is a great event for a great cause," said Steve Ghiglieri, plant manager of the Anheuser-Busch Houston brewery. "Last year more than 250 cars entered and we raised over $7,000 for the United Way."
The entry fee is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. The first 200 entrants will receive a T-shirt and participant trophy. Entry information is available by calling (281) 550-4169 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entrants will compete for honors in various award categories at the event, which is hosted by the Anheuser-Busch Houston Brewery, in conjunction with Silver Eagle Distributors of Houston. Judging will be conducted by the North Houston Krewzers and award presentation will begin at 2 p.m. The Anheuser-Busch Houston brewery is located near the intersection of the I-610 Loop and I-10 East.
The United Way Bud Classic Car Show is free to spectators. Concessions will be available.
Including employee contributions, the Anheuser-Busch Houston brewery raised more than $125,000 during the 2004 United Way campaign. In addition, the brewery provides financial and volunteer support for numerous community organizations in neighborhoods near the brewery. Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of the Houston brewery, and its charitable foundation has contributed approximately $3.6 million to the Houston community over the past decade.
