Finally!
The clutch return spring...IS REPLACED!!!! Holy crap, that was harder than the oil pump swamp! I ended up pulling out the front seat to get more room to work, then pulled the pin that the clutch and brake pedals pivot on. I got the spring in place, then pivoted/leveraged the pedal until the pin lined up again.
For those of you who might be thinking about doing it this way...DON'T! Getting the spring back in place wasn't easy, but getting the pin to line up correctly again took about 45 minutes of jiggling, prying, swearing, and knuckle/elbow scraping.
Now watch the spring break in a week.

That's what mine did. One of the "tails" broke, so the spring was rubbing on the housing every time the pedal moved. Very annoying.
