Rita is all talk....
On the other hand I was going down 529 a couple days ago and traffic was absolutely packed one way...there was actually more people going the WRONG way down the road then there were people driving the right way along with me. I had to cut through parking lots and off road it to get home in a reasonable amount of time...funny thing is that I wasn't alone, there were three other people back there offroading with me.
And I don't see what was so wrong with my idea. Just wait until like a day before landfall to see whats gonna happen, then go where its safe. I know people that evacuated from Houston to just north of New Orleans, now their **** is getting ruined because it turned that way.
"gas could skyrocket to 4 dollars a gallon"
"Storm surges up to 25 miles in land."
"90 percent of the infrstructure of the united states could be wiped out"
"It's down now, but data tells us it will ramp back up to a cat 5."
"it's only a cat 3 now, but were still looking at it completing an ERC and ramping back up to a cat 5"
And when it finally did hit, you got these moron CNN reporters out on the road almost being taken out by flying debris risking their lives to give us live updates on palm trees getting knocked over and flags flying off the poles.
