Default Idle and Driving Issues...Need HELP

Well this is a new problem I just got. Saturday I ran my car pretty hard twice, once on the Juice and once off, drove home, it ran fine all that night. Next day I go to the folks house, crank it up still no problems yet, but after sitting at the folks house for about 15 minutes I get back in my car and crank it up and on the way back home I mess with Diesel Ford trying to give me the fly by, car ran fine just like she always does, but when I get to the next stop light my car idles at 2000 rpm for no reason, I turn the AC on and it drops it back to my 900rpm idle, I take off smoothly but as I get past 3000rpms in any gear the car acts like its breaking up then it starts to surge real bad. I get to the apt and sit there listening to see maybe I broke spring or fouled my plugs (misfires) but no SES light came on but my cars temp did continue to rise to about 200 and my car usually sits around 180 max unless my AC is on. I turn the car off and then try to start her and she wont crank. Throw the laptop on it and No trouble codes, no misfires, no nothing?? I wait for about an hour and crank it her up, I had to hold the gas pedal down, she fires up and then runs fine, take her down the road past 3000rpms and she is running fine with no break up or high idle??? Today I go to work and all my problems as described are back. What could it be??? Mods are in my sig link, I have a Walbro 255 pump. Please HELP!!!! What should I check for??

Maybe after the whole Rita ordeal you accidentally filled up with regular instead of the liquid gold?

Check the mass air flow sensor. are you running a KN filter? might have oil on the maf sensor. Yes, could be bad gas like the others said and check to make sure the little red wire at the + post on the battery is getting good contact because that powers the computer.

I had close to the same problem. Turns out when i pressed on the gas my main power wire from the back of the car was shorting out on the swaybar mounts.

I would pull the plugs and check them, that could tell you a lot. Also, the car running hotter than usual would definetely be a concern for me, will it overheat if you keep running it ? If so, have you checked the oil for any signs of coolant ? If it is not a sensor, and is a mechanical problem, the computer usually won't pick it up. I had a broken valve spring, and limped the car home with it missing out really badly and not idling, and the check engine light never came on.

If he truly was spraying the car then this happened, my old car still ran and drove somewhat fine. But i had cracked a ring land. I kept racing it and what not and it would get hotter then normal with a 160 t-stat on a 98, and eventually the piston cracked all the way and i knew what it was for sure then. It builds a little more heat when a piston is cracked and the water jacket is right next to it. Heats the coolant a little more and it will show sooner or later its ugly head. Hope its not this though.

if it's a piston and it's something similar to my motor it would probably be a lean condition. i'm not sure what happened in mike's motor though. 408 would be nice, my race car doesn't even get one that big....

car goes lean on the hose, piston goes ouch and says **** this, i quit.... thats what causes problems.

Hopefully you didn't hole a piston or crack a ring land.... But if you did, I have some stock pistons
