I didn't read all the posts too carefully so this might have been said already. The main problem i see with putting the wood on the inside is that if it is windy and some object were to go throguh the window which i am sure on a building like that is about 1/4 inch or so, i am guessing it would take the wood right off whatever it is nailed to inside. I think that putting the wood on the outside is a better idea b/c the wind would only push it up aginst the surface it is nailed to, this wouldn't make the nails come out obviously. About the wood getting wet...even if it rains, there are plenty of things made of wood that sit outside and don't get damaged and loose all structural integrity within a few hours(bad storm) or even years. So what if it gets wet, hopefully you aren't using particle board or something like that. I don't know too much baout preping for a storm since i live in dallas but i would think that the main reason you have the wood up is to keep the windows from being busted out, but i could easily be wrong.

oh good gawd people.
it was a joke, I spelled bonfire bondfire, lighten up.
I know it was a horrible thing to happen.... im not that freakin shallow.
I wont get into true details about it... it was a joke of a post. Several friends of mine go there, and went there, and some have graduated from there. One died there (recently, plane crash, not the fire thing)They are some of the smarter people I know...... once again, calm down, it was a JOKE.

I got this from an Aggie blog site - a response from Loupot's Book Store on
their window boarding strategy:

From: (name removed)[mailto:xxxxxx@loupots.com]
Sent: Tuesday, September 27, 2005 1:30 PM
To: (name removed)
[Subject: FW: windows boarded from inside

yep--our windows will not support the weight of plywood screwed into
their frames--neither is there sufficient masonry wall surrounding
them for an attachment----therefore our contractor, a "good Ag",
suggested saving the store from a major cleanup and letting the glass
go----it wasn't a difficult decision to make!! thanks for your
interest---(name removed)

i think i might have to go by and get a reason as to why they put the ply wood on the inside of the glass.
i figured it was somehow do to how it would have to be mounted on the outside. i went by and asked and they basicly said the same as
