SAR tomorrow night? Oct. 19th
90% likely I will finally get the Blue Beast out to the track tomorrow night.
It will be the "maiden voyage" since my latest transformation on her and I'm pretty curious to she what she can do now. Project is in my motor swap thread in the LT1/LT4 forum and consists of a 385 LT4 stroker, Strange 12 bolt, Billingsley chromoly DS, Walbro pump, and Wolfe rear swaybar.
I'm pretty confident of LOW 11's, maybe even squeeze into a high 10 if the suspension does what it should. If I can hook, it may be an exciting evening.

So far so good, but the real test will be that first launch with tire, full on the converter.
Bill really did an excellent job on the install. He took his time and made sure it was right. That's why I came to you guys. I've seen his work before and he is a craftsman.
I'll be back for my cage when they kick me off the track.

It's looking good for tonight. So far from the Austin crew it's me, Chopstix, and RiflemanBTX. All three of us will be running our cars.
Fast93Z is not going to be able to make it, so there went my tow vehicle. I will be driving the car down. Hope that doesn't turn out to be a bad idea. :crossfingers:

Here's a cut and paste from the discussion of last night on the Austin F-Body board that's going on today: http://www.afbforums.com/index.php?s...5&#entry212259
Tony Shepard's Question:
Todd....you forgot to post up your best timeslip!!
Congrats to the both of you!!
My Response:
I didn't forget. I didn't want to. The "best" ET last night was with bad wheelspin. The two runs that the car hooked, the tranny hiccuped bad and smacked the rev limiter, ruining both passes.
So my "best" ET last night is NOT what the car can do.
But, since you called me on it: 11.38 @ 119.33 with a 1.62 short time with wheelspin.
Had I run out the 1.55 short time pass in the later (cooler) weather? I'm thinking low 11.2x to even eleven teens.
I topped off the tranny fluid (naturally). Did that at 1:30 am when I got home, I was so pissed.
I'm going to finish the suspension and go for a 10.9 on motor. Fock yeah!

Actually here's the post from before the one I just cut and pasted. It will make more sense:
We had a good time last night, despite the fact that I had some issues. One was lack of traction and when I fixed the traction, the tranny stopped wanting to shift into 2nd. Got home and kicked myself: The biotch was half a quart low and my tranny stops shifting at WOT when it's lacking even a half quart. There are no leaks, I can only guess that taking the driveshaft in and out a couple times caused just enough fluid to escape out the open tailshaft.
Ray and I had fun grudge racing. Yes, he got a white slip.... due to my .492 light! My new motor reacts so much quicker that when I hit the tree when I usually would, instead of getting a low to mid .5xx, I get a .49x or .48x. happened almost every run, except one pass where I deliberately relaxed and cut a .560 light.
My LCA relo brackets and QA-1 rear shocks are on the way.
They also bitched at me about not having a cage, so that is gona have to happen somehow as well.
Well, when making such a big transformation I can't expect the first time out to be flawless. I just wish my focking tranny had shifting on the run when I pulled the front wheels 8-10" and cut a 1.55 short time. I was pretty steamed about the wasted run.
There's always next time.
