Default Those who work and go to school full time

how the hell do you do it? I've been working full time, going to school full time plus, and just can't do both. Anybody have any tips to make it easier? I'm thinking about selling my house and just getting an apartment so I don't have to work as much. Any suggestions?

what's school full time? 12 hours? I work 50hrs a week or so and take 3 classes. its not so bad, just gotta be up late to work on homework. plus I have a 11-month old. you'll be fine.

its all motivation. Something about being 8 classes a way from a diploma and being 26 gets you going

Damn, I guess I should stop complaining. Yeah, I'm taking 14 hrs. My anatomy lab involves 11 hours a week of cadaver work. So on top of 14 hours, I am required to go at my leisure to view cadavers an additional 11 hours a week.

Would getting financial aid help ease the burden? I worked full-time while taking my nursing pre-reqs part-time, and now I'm in nursing school going full-time and not working at all (I know I wouldn't make it through school if I had to work). I'm living on financial aid right now and yes I will hate paying back the money, but at least I'm not compromising the way I have to live.

Actually that's a good suggestion. I too am using Financial Aid to pay for tuition, books, etc. It helps.

Yeah, everybody keeps telling me to get on financial aid, but I've got med school after I get my bachelors. Hell, I don't know, what's a few extra thousand tacked onto a hundred thousand going to matter?

I work 20 hours a week and am taking 12 hours this semester. I'm working on a tough certification as well - CCNP. Also have twins about to turn 8 months old, yada yada yada. It adds up, just gotta keep truckin. Its either keep workin on it, or get left behind when the good opportunities present themselves.

When I was in college, I worked 40-50 hrs per week and took 12-15 hrs of school per semester. Didn't take summer classes, used that time to recover on funds and sleep. During the semester I only slept about 3-4 hrs per night max. Absolutely NO social life for quite a few years, but it was worth it.

18 hours of school, 30 hours of work. It's just about dedication to the end product. I'll have 3 years of job experience in my field when I graduate.

Sure, it would be easier to not work since my parents could easily support me, but then I would be like every other spoiled brat on this site who doesn't work and mommy and daddy pays for everything... at the end of the day it's nice to be able to say that not many other 22 year olds are going to college, own their own house, and pay their way with everything.

I work 40+ hours a week and 15 hours a semester...All you have to do is throw out the time you used to spend sleeping and you got it made....I figure a few hard years will equate to a lot of very good years in the long run.

I feel your pain I am in the same boat as you. It just comes down to a juggling act with a fine line between success and destruction. I also have a five year old daughter so I go home every weekend to pick her up and work at the shop on weekends to pay for my trip there and back plus childsupport. Lifes a bitch then you marry one. solution get rid of the bitch stay single and work your *** off to stay afloat. In the end it is actually less hassle. Trust me been there done that and have the scars to prove it. At least it's nice to know I am not the only one here with the same issues. Thats why I can never make any of the meets. Just another name behind a keyboard.
