Default Good Rearend Guys in Houston?

I've got a 99TA with stock 3.42 rear. It's been humming a little the last 6 weeks or so. I thought it was the poly TA mount I put in about 2 weeks earlier, but it's not. It's the rear end.

I checked the fluid and it's grey with a lot of tiny metal particles in it, like metallic paint, not shavings. I'm thinking the bearings are going out and the gears are getting out of alignment and that's what's causing the noise. Besides changing the fluid and adding some magnets to the inside, what can I do to make it last longer?

I'm really strapped for cash, are there any guys in the Houston area that can do a bearing or gear replacement for not too much money?

This is my daily driver, so I want to get this addressed before it gets worse even if I have to borrow some money.

Anyway, what can I do right now? I plan to pull the cover off and check to see what's wearing. If it's just the bearings, can they be replaced and keep on using the gears and Torsen?

Any help would be appreciated. I need this car to get to work.

Guys, Pyle Brothers is not cheap. I think they wanted $900 for a gear swap when I checked a few years ago.

Update, guess what just happened? From a hardly noticable hum, it just went pop. I was pulling out of the driveway, in the rain no less, and she popped on me. I limped it back into the garage.

I heard of a guy around Dallas that does rear gear swaps for around $400 total. I wished I lived closer.

Anyway, the gears look ok, but the big thing they bolt to (carrier? or differential case) is snapped in half. It has 4 bolts total and 2 of them snapped off when the big piece snapped in half. I may be able to reuse the gears, but there was a lot of small metal particles in there. Something was wearing out.

What would be the correct way to fix it? New carrier, new gears and the big master install kit with new wheel bearings? Maybe even have to replace the Torsen?

I'm going to have to borrow some money to fix it, so the cheapest route will have to do. A new rear is not an option. Maybe I should just look for a whole rear axle from a local salvage yard.

Any ideas?

They did my swap for either $250 or $350, but I think it was $250. I provided the gear and the money, they did the rest.

Is there any way to get a non-traction control rear axle to fit if you swap backing plates and axles? Wouldn't that allow the axle sensors to work on the new axle housing or are axle housings machined differently?
