Just Finished Camming my Wife's GTP....hangs with my TA??
from a 60 punch.... except for the lag she was door to door with me! I was shocked... you should have seen the grin on her face later on!!! this kinda is cool and sucks at the same time! She said that when i passed her she had let off.... damn i wish she had the ***** to take it up to 100 mph!!
considering there is more left due to the pcm learning the cam... and the stock downpipe needing replacement........ i think she may actually take my bird at certain points in the RPM band.... thankfully my 3.42's give me the upper hand to her 2.73's.

I don't see how that GTP can hang with your T/A? Their top-end sucks badly. Maybe the cam helped that? I know rockers help their top-end on a stock cam.
My friend has an '01 GTP as well. He's running a 3.4 pulley though, he just got a full intercooler delivered, so he'll be dropping pulley sizes soon. Still trying to tune out the KR. He's got all the same mods as your GTP, minus the cam but with the addition of headers.
He can't keep up with my bone stock '98 Z28 A4 that dyno's 290rwhp. His is a 4-door though, so it may weigh more than the 2-door variant... if that's what your wifes car is.

cam really woke her car up... I assume it went from 13.7-13.8's to 13.2-13.3's
atleast .5 in the 1/4 mile.
my car was running 8.5's and 8.6's 8th mile........ cant wait to take her car to kennedale and pick on some mustangs! it is a 4-door sleeper.
I am putting (mellowyellow's) 226/226 cam in mine.... a set of coated hooker longtubes, ORY, and a tune. Hopefully that will take her!
her car is a 4 door. pulls very had up top.... spins thru 40mph with new 245/16 BFG tires.

VS Cam + 3.2 Pulley = 50 rwhp (maybe more.... depending on KR)

3.4 is like 8-8.5 PSI iirc..... 3.8 (stock) is around 6-7 psi (97-03 years)

Yeah, only bad thing is Beefed up tranny parts are expensive, u can drop 3grand(easy) in one of those T465E's. Diff's are like 1k The lower end is stout, you can make them fast, but the tranny upgrades are murder on the wallet. If those cars were rear wheel drive, I probably would have kept mine.

A lightly modded 3.8 camaro/firebird can easily keep up with the 5.0's and a decently modded one will take it depending on the mods the 5.0 has. I enjoy it when people pick a race with my camaro thinking it just a V6
