Default Computer guys in here... Please !!

My laptop at the house is not letting sites like hotmail, ebay, or myspace come up. All it does is time out or not come up at all. Any suggestions ?
A while back I had the the BLUE screen come up and my computer guy at work said to uninstall all programs and start all over which I did and every now and then it will pop up and I just shut it down. Any help or suggestions or any other info needed to help I will be greatful and willing to submit.

Are there any people in the DFW are that works on laptops ? I have been told to stay away from the geek squad and big name stores due to high mark up.

if you've done a total wipe and reinstall it sounds like it's a bad driver. Can you get online at all?

If you are running Windows 2000 or XP, the blue screen of death was most likely a driver issue and the blue screen will tell you what driver is causing the issue. And it can be solved rather easily.

If it is a Windows 98 install, you can spend the rest of your life trying to figure it out. Delete the partition, make a new partition, format the partition and re-install windows 98. You will most likely need either the driver cd that came with the laptop or go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your laptop model.

Here in Austin, the Fbody community does not have issues with their computers...they have me to work on 'em for free.
