Default What to do with $8k ???

I decided to keep my Trans am, for a while longer anyway. Anyways I have about $8000 to spend, what should I do with it? What works best and gets me the best results. My car is pretty stock, it has an SLP air lid and catback. I am in despret need of tires so thats already on the list. Please help, I am totaly new to the V8 world especialy the LS1 so any suggestion are appreciated, thanks...

Well I dont think I'd be happy with a turbo or s/c, because I doubt the stock engine would handle very much, and I wouldnt have enough for internals. I was thinking more like just a full exhaust, heads & cam, and nitrous and a tune. What do you think. I might have enough for that and be happy with it.

???

Leave your car stock and just drive it and enjoy it and put your 8k into something (investment wise) that will actually make you some money!

Here is my suggestion:
1000 dollars for tires * i suggest nitto 555 for fronts and nitto 555r for the rear tires.

7000 dollars:

$3400
High Performance Engineering Big Box of goodies -475 hp includes:
-HPE Cam Kit
-Fast 90mm intake
-NW 90 mm tb
-tb-maf coupler
-koooks stainless steel 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 headers
- Kooks offroad y pipe
-ASP Underdrive pulley with belts
-NGK tr55 spark plugs
-msd 8.5 mm wires.

~$600 a stall or new clutch for your transmission

$2000 moser 12 bolt or 9 inch rear end

Get the car tuned
if you need more money for install you can adjust accordingly.

if you have the money left over than
$600 nex wet nitrous kit from summit racing

You can get a sts turbo kit for 4 thousand, run it at 5 psi and your internals would be fine. Spend a thousand on tires. Get a new rearend, moser or strange. Get nitrous. Get it tuned.

These $8k are meant for this reason, I have invesments an such but thank you for that advice. I like the package idea, as for the turbo idea again I dont think I would have enogh for that nor would I be happy at only 5 psi but thank you as well. Keep them coming!!!

definitely keep your car N/A...these motors can make some serious horsepower/torque without the help of forced induction. first things first, decide what you want, straightline or handling setup...or both! in any case, you should prolly go with the best of both worlds and get a moser 12 bolt, and some radials on a spare set of rims so that you have a back up set. then, do suspension (adj panhard bar, SFCs, yadda yadda yadda) and maybe the LS7 clutch setup and get to know your car. then once you know how to drive your car and feel comfortable with everything, start adding power with heads/cam, full exhaust, and tune. if you pay to have the work done, youll spend around 8k prolly...if you do it yourself and learn, youll have a couple grand leftover...my .02

It's not "High Performance Engineering." They are called Horsepower Engineering (HPE).

We have plenty of sponsors that sell rear ends, call them up and found out what they cost. You can also keep an eye out in the Group Purchase Section for sales.

Peace,
Craig.

Be smart, keep it in the bank for a rainy day! I mean if your rich go for it but, I you worked hard to save it up then it might not be the best thing to blow it all at once! Thats just me.
