Default How many of you run a heads/cam daily driver?

I was wondering how many people run a heads/cam daily driver? I just picked up a set of MTI stage II heads and I was wanting to put them on soon. I only have a small 224/230 cam with bolt ons, do you think this is a a good idea or do you think I should wait till I get my daily driver in 6 months? This will only be a mild heads/cam set up. Let me know what you guys think.

Good deal, as of now my cam/bolt-ons set up has worked out perfectly as a daily driver set up. Im hoping these heads wont change too much of its driveability. I guess we will find out this weekend! Thanks for the replies guys.....

The cam itself is fairly small so no issued there, then heads only improve the cars manners because of the bump in compression.

I agree, I enjoy being able to get to places quickly and getting in and out of traffic....all while getting some pretty good gas mileage!

I've got a huge cam with LS6 heads and I drive my car 120 miles everyday!

Only drivability issue is going through a drive through or a parking lot. The cam doesn't like to idle low. And it really isn't a problem for me.

Cam specs: 238/242 @.050 .608''/.612'' 115lsa

If your having idle issues in a 6 speed with that cam on as wide an LSA as its on you need to bitch at whoever tuned it becuase its more agressive cams that have no problem idle.

My goof. I meant to say it doesn't like low RPMs. For instance, if I am driving in a parking lot at 5-10 mph, it likes to lurch. The cam idles just fine and it sounds mean as heck. Chuck at HPE tuned it, so I don't believe that there are tuner issues.

i dont think you have to worry about the motor,
if anything just dont do any 4k launches if its a 6sd car and you want it to make last everyday.
