An LS1 should get better fuel economy.

six speed or auto? Theres better choices for a daily driver of gas is your concern. Mine got about 17MPG mixed city and highway, around town only I would see 14-15MPG, pure high way maybe about 19-20MPG, I have a prety heavy foot though. This Trans Am does about the same as my Blazer.

mines a 96, when mine was auto completely stock i was getting on the highway about 350 to a tank which i think comes to about 21-23 MPG and in the city i was getting prolly about 17-19 MPG if i stayed out of the throttle, it got a little better on the highway and it was about the same in the city when i did the M6 conversion

well i just drove 1200 miles in m6 ta and i was getting 305 to a tank @23mpg 15.5 gal tank. gas gauge is a little off. so the numbers are estimates. but i drive about 5.1 miles to work, then the same back. i can go almost 2 weeks befor i need a fill up. I would look for something else for a dd if gas is a concern.

On my 97 I had a 355 with headers and borla and would get about 13-15 in the city (If I got on it all the time, 10). On road trips I could squeeze 26mpg out of it... and it was an M6.

I have an auto 94 t/a with a small stall (2000ish) and I get 16 - 18 consistantly its usually 17.something. It seems like when I go slow everywhere I get 18 and when I beat on it I get 17 so I beat on it Also this is in rush hour traffic every day so that should give you a good idea.

I normally saw around 22-24 with a 1996 M6 LT1 camaro. That is mostly highway and not very spirited driving. I think I was running headers/catback/CAI at the time.

FWIW, I normally see about 20mpg in my C5, even though it is supposedly more efficient and 400lbs lighter. However, I drive a little more aggressively in the C5. LOL.
