Default Website for taken Texas vanity plates?

is there a website for taken vanity plates in texas... i have an idea, just hoping no one has it yet... also how much does it cost?

You could always go to your local license plate office, tell them you wanted a personalized license plate and they can tell you if its taken or not. I did this a long time ago with a list of ideas I wanted just in case one was already taken. Then I just put indications next to the ones that were available and made my choice.

When I did it 2 or 3 years ago, it was $40. Keep in mind that's on top of regular registration, so you're looking at $100-$110 total a year.

there is a number you can call to see if anyone has the ones you want

Or you can always find a friendly police officer and get him to run the plate you want, if it comes back registered, pick another one.

thats what i did my friends mom is a dispatcher, we just called her and had her look it up.
