It was cool seeing you guys go at it. The track issues sucked. There was a lot of "hurry up and wait" going on for sure.

Ya'll picked a good time to leave. The humidity started climbing and the track prep went to crap pretty quick after the cars started running steady.

I have a spooky video of traction issues and what could have been Luckily we were in the right lane or it would have been ugly.

It was good seeing ya'll again (Tony, Lisa, Brian and Tiff). We need more track GTGs.

"Houston Raceway Parking" is the new name I'll be referring to HRP as. I mean come on, there were only about 20-25 cars in the lanes but it took over an hour between passes. Pretty damn frustrating, everyone in line was kind of irritated about it.

Jr. Dragsters
Pro-mods that take 15 minutes to stage due to 10 crew members, just to spin out and shut it down early.

It was just the day you went. I was out there the last 2 fridays and was really happy with how things were run. I'm pretty damn impatient too. The track was hooking like crazy too from all those dragsters doing testing during the day.

I agree, that definitely was not the best day to go. The track was catering to the "special" cars. They did the pro mods one at a time and several of them got a second chance if they didn't make it past the 330 mark. They would just back the car up to the starting line, fix it and then proceed again. Several times the crew would run out onto the track, notice a spot that wasn't so sticky anymore and request another track prep. I have never seen a track do prep more than 3 times in one hour. I believe they got 4 cars down the track during that hour.

It just seems like any time theres Jr Dragsters or some sort of bracket event in coordiantion with a test and tune night you get a big slow down in the staging lanes, the saturday night at Thunder Shoot Out `04 was a good example of that. Usally Baytown moves prety quick though.

I feel for you, Tony. I took mine out last week and ran a 13.9 @ 103.xx, due to severe wheel hop - I thought the rear end was gonna be left there at Houston Raceway Parking. 3 runs in 3 1/2 hours!

Leo, what sucks is that wheelhop is worse at HRP than on the beltway. I've done quite a few runs from redlights on the beltway and the tires never bounced as hard as they did at HRP.

I just finished installing the Pedders differential bushing, Pedders "No Drop" rear springs - which actually raised the rear by about 1/4"-1/2" and Pedders GSR rear shocks. Hopefully this will have solved most of the wheel hop issue running on street radials, I'll let you know next time I'm out.
