The Spurs are a proven team, the Suns are unproven, the Rockets are unproven. remember the "clutch city" is over 10 years ago. Since then it has been a baseball town. The Mavs win it this year and they will have been the worst team in Dallas and the best team in Dallas in the past 20 years.

If the Mavs went without Dirk for as long as the Rockets have been without Yao... their loss number would have tripled.
I will say they do have the best defense in the league. And if you had Yao you would for sure be in front of the spurs in the division. But I don't think anyone can beat the mavs in seven.
