Default What is the Best Rador Detector

I want to get a rador cause I tend to be heavy footed & really would like to get a good one & not worry about having to buy one for a couple of years. Money is not a issue?

V1 or nothing

and you wont have to worry about buying a new one ever. just send it in for an upgrade ($40) as they're released, and they'll fix anything else that is wrong with it.

I'd personally get a Valentine 1, but I heard the Passport 8500 (X50) was just as good, just didn't have the fancy arrow indicators.

The brand new Escort Passport 9500 is going to own every other kind of radar made. It just came out not sure if it is available to buy yet in your area, but I'm waiting for it.

Edit: the V1 is badass but they need to update it to compete with the 9500 however the one thing the 9500 doesn't have is the arrows.

Beltronics Belpro. Only because it jams radar and laser, i've seen it with my own two eyes.

Escort Passport. If you do a google search for "best radar detector" every hit will back this up.

V1 is probably the best but I have a Bel and it is great and plenty affordable at about $275. Nothing is going to pick up laser before it is actually hitting you.

You are wrong. Those are more bias sites on the net.

I have the Escort Passport x50 and it is awesome. I looked at the V1 which is basically the exact same except it points in the direction the radar is coming from (this doesn't always work), and is more expensive. My thought was, WHO CARES which way the radar's coming from?! I'm slowing down even if it's coming from above me!

Also the new Passport looks cool because it has built in GPS and saves on its memory the areas where false alarms occur to eleminate them. You can also save speed traps into the memory so it can warn you. Of course this damn thing came out like 3 months after I bought mine.

I've got a Passport 8500 X50 and love it, and I agree w/blackmaro99, who cares where it's coming from, you're going to slow down anyway. Aren't you?
