Default '96 Formula WS6: how much is it worth?

The guy down the street from my dad is selling a 96 Formula WS6. It is a hard top, 6spd with 108k miles and he has added a hot cam and headers. I have only seen it in the garage but might go look at it next month. I am thinking about buying it and driving it while I am saving money for what I really want. I am tired of driving the damn Nissan. What is it worth? KBB says 5500 and NADA says 8800. I want to make sure I can resale it and not lose my ***.
Thanks
Shaun

i bet you could get it for 5,000.

but buying a formula and saving your money for what you really won't are not the same thing. what's so bad about that nissan? drive the nissan and save your money and the get what you really want.

I guess I didnt explain myself very well. I am asking how much it is worth. I know how much I can get it for. If I can buy a car X amount of money... drive it for 3 months and sell it for X + 1 grand not only did I make money but I got to drive a 13 sec car instead of a turd. Plus the turd is paid for so I can keep it too for nights when I want to impress a girl.

bet 4500$ cash drives that car home! thats a reasonable offer and when you sell it down the road you will either break even or make a lil change on it! go for it. they may bite at it!

Yeh like I said I only know what I have been told. I assume really good shape. It is a garage kept one owner. People are asking 5-7 for non WS6 Formulas on Auto Trader so if I could get 6-7 for it I would do it.
