go with the new z71's they are really nice full locking diff's and get great fuel economy,
If you want something to tow get a 2500 4x4 with the duramax and the allison youl be set buddy

Doesn't the Texas Edition Tundra have the smaller motor and shorter gear? I drove both the 4.8 and the 5.7 (both 2wd). I wasn't all that impressed with them. I stuck with my 05 Silverado Crew Cab.

No it was in reference to gm's six speed but the toyota may have teething problems too. That first year or two is the teller of the tale. I remember in 94' when everyone was going nuts about the new bad *** 6.5 t diesels and we all see what a piece they were.
