Is that just for labor to rebuild or does it include installation?

What does six speeds charge for labor? Whenever you take parts to a shop to install they will charge more for the job. Its only fair. They aren't making any money on the parts that you are bringing and therefor have more risk if something goes wrong. Just ask them what the book time is to rebuild it and what their labor rate is and you will know if it is fair. Book time is probably 3-4 hours for the R&R and rebuild time is probably 6-9.
Doesn't sound like they are overcharging you to me. But it really begs the question why didn't you send your tranny to six speeds to be rebuilt?

I dont have the tools nor the space to store it. I also dont want to spend the money to have a shop drop it, store the car for the amount of time SSI told me it would take. Im buy the parts from them, I think thats good enough.
The $700 is for them to drop it ,rebuild it (with my parts), and put it back in, so what do you think?

Thats what I was thinking, cause if that were true everyone that has ever done business with all the other tranny vendors have been way ripped off too! I just dont see that happening.

That is the actual price. Jason from TDP (Texas Drivetrain Performance out of Fort Worth) is a very stand-up guy. He quoted me to rebuild my T-56, 500 parts and labor and 150 to remove/reinstall the tranny. I guarantee that you won't find a more honest individual to work on anything drivetrain related. He has always been a great person to deal with and everyone up here in the D/FW area go to him for gear swaps, axle swaps, tranny work, etc...

Okay I can see for an ordinary rebuild, mayube 650 is possible. I however am not getting an ordinary rebuild atleast i would hope since they claim that it will hold 700/700. $400 that the guy claimed is just too cheap.
Either way I contacted him and he said that he would charge me $450 to drop install my parts and reinstall, which is fair since im not buying the parts from him. Im checking on flat bed fees to see if its worth it, since his shop is in North Ft. Worth and I live In South Arlington.
