Default Nice areas in Dallas

The Austin Job market seems to be crappy right now. I can get a job but can make about another 20 to 30 k a year in Dallas. What are some good areas?

I just moved away from Mesquite/Garland, over to south Grand Prairie. Much nicer area. Still have a rather large lake, too.

I'm thinking about the Rockwall/Royce City area. Got a few friends over there. Near the lake too.

Yea I heard Frisco was nice. Never made it up that way. Been all around it though. I just need to find a Gov't job so I don't throw away my years I already have with them.

Royce City and all that is too far away. I live in Allen and work in Plano (soon to be Frisco). All nice areas. South Lake and Highland Park (and University Park) are what I call "REALLY nice areas"...as in, I can't live there unless I make an extra 50-60k. At least from what I've seen. Addison is nice if you like the restaurant scene and apartments.

Wow, you must be banking if you are only 50-60k away from living in Highland Park. Property values there are among some of the highest around. When I first moved to Dallas, I worked at Dallas Country Club. On my way to work everyday, I would pass this house being built. One of the members knew the guy building it. Total cost? 10 million.

Southlake is one word.

Also, the best.

Southlake/Grapevine/Colleyville area. 5 min from the airport, 30 from Downtown Dallas, 30 from Downtown Ft Worth.

15 min from lake Lewisville, 10 from lake Grapevine. Southlake Town square is super nice and Grapevine Mills Mall is cool too.
