Wait, its "controversial" to put an LS6 into a first gen F-body? With fly-by-wire? its been done 100 times. Are we talking 4th gen? Still be done I'm sure. He'll I saw fly-by-wire in an S-10.

In the statement: "This isn't our only project, maybe the most controversial one." you are referring to the 2jz in the first-gen? OK, I get that. Thanks.

The new LSX motor is going to kicks foreign *** Bruce Lee style. And by the way, nobody being able to build an 800HP LS-series is ridiculous and complete bullshit.

Throw a magnacharger in the LSX, give it some new internals, and you could have 1000HP on race fuel without too much more money.

You don't need to do NEAR that much. I provided sc300 with a great example of a daily driven fully reliable (ONLY car) example that was a 6-speed, ran 9's (on DR's I think), and dyno'd over 1000 hp at the motor. It was 364cid I believe. That wasn't good enough. That same combo is in a different car (auto) and still runs 9's (17" MT's)and will dyno that high again if he wanted to (not sure he hasnt since the swap). Still 364 I think. Sorry, no, it wasn't a box-stock LS1, but an al. block, stock crank, PT88, BS3 car.

Lots of reasons, first being the high compression. Anybody knows compression and boost don't mix, second would be the stock internals. Alot of boosted cars come stock with forged pistons and rods to handle the boost, look at the 03/04 cobras they make really good power for very cheap. Bolt on a KB blower and a little gas and you have 700+rwhp for less than $5000 bucks in mods. People see high HP turbo cars all the time, and the majority of them are cars that came from the factory with boost. I think it is safe to say that boosted LSX cars are semi-rare, but just because you don't see them often does not mean they don't exsist. Of course a supra with a forged low compression motor will be cheaper to boost than a LSX, it comes with the majority of the work already done. With the LSX your gonna have to build a forged low compression motor before you can even start to think about turbos, well real turbos not those BS STS kits. Fact is a properly built big cube, big turbo, big boost LSX is just as capable of making huge power numbers as any toyota motor ever produced.

A small engine with a ton of boost always reminds me of the impact wrench I use to take the lugs off my truck.

Referring to the 2JZ project as being controversial, not the LS swap.

Nice set-up. But I just love the sound of a big cammed motor with lots of power! Thats American power!! But the car is awsome looking! By the way, with a car like that. Being the fastest isn`t always the most important thing!!

this the the 67 camaro that has the supra motor in it that i have been talking about..

i know that alot of people dont like this idea due the brand loyalty..besides that..

how much would it really cost to make 1000bhp(thru motor) with an LSX reliably thru a 6 speed?????

dont be biased...because i see people here breaking **** all the times and no one has even reliably made 800hp yet??
Did the supra gods send you to ls1tech to prove something? I don't even own an LSX powered vehicle and I think your constantly trying to prove something here has gotten severley lame.

Some automakers have even experimented with variable compression.
