i can do highway runs and beat pretty much anything and still be able to go to the track and run 9s..

Duy next time your down and Mark is out we need to line you and the truck up again, but n2o vs n2o this time. Should be a good race with both of you spraying.

Ah yes, here it is:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/texas-members/717131-my-9-40-145-pass.html

There are plenty of LS1's that can go that fast. Just get an HPE or LME forged short block, throw a big shot of nitrous, and you got a fast, reliable, streetable mid to low 9 second car..there's nothing magical about that...

man i know it possible with a th400..**** i have been beaten on the streets in dig races a few times already....if i put back my th400 and crank up and boost, i'd be doing 8s in my supra and still be able to drive it anywhere..it will just suck having to cruise at 70mph and be buzzing at 4000rpm

It's hard to compare a car with a Supra with a 76mm Turbo that makes 800rwhp on a stock motor, to an LS1 that makes 480rwhp (with a big *** heads/cam setup). It's like comparing apples to oranges. It also boils down to the type of fuel also. The LS1 can do what it does on 93 octane, but most Supra's are slow on Pump gas. It's a sad proven fact. 900rwhp on c16, ~600rwhp on 93 Octane. Running on C16 is not a "true street car". You can't go buy it at Chevron when your halfway to Austin and out of gas.

Now bolt ons vs bolt ons a BPU Supra will get smacked around by a good running bolt on car usually, again I'm talking pump gas vs pump gas.

There are some 911's that are starting to show up in the big hp areas. Markski's car went 10.0x @ 144 (blowing out the plugs on the big end), but did go 119mph in the 1/8th There is another car that just got finished being built that was built by Promotive (same people that setup Markski's car) that did a 4.9 60-130 a few days ago.

The point is this:

You didn't mention anything about transmissions in that statement..

You talk as if there are no LSX's that can beat your car. Again, I did not read the entire thread so I can't say what the rules of this "internet race" are, but the reality is there are some LSX's that can beat your Supra. There are streetable, reliable LSX's that can beat your supra street car and the are some LSX equipped race cars that can beat you supra race car. I doubt you will be able to find anyone that will race to your own specific rules...

Just because an LSX car doesn't have the factory transmission shouldn't really matter. I could take my TH400 and put in a factory 4L80E and use that instead. I just didn't want to spend the extra money. A 4L80E is a factory tranny, right?

Eddie's car is ******* sick. It's by far one of my fav. cars. There is some videos of his car on low boost on the street from a roll. It's insane!

I was referring to the 996 though. The Water-cooled 3.6ltr is still pretty new (starting in 01)

oh really he's getting one now??? I know he's been wanting to start working on one. If I had the money I'd let him do mine, but modding these cars is insanely expensive. I need to stop by there one day next week since I work within 5 or so minutes from his shop. I've never seen his shop.
