Default drag racing accident

Dont know if anyone else has seen this or has a better news story then here at ESPN, but a sad story nonetheless. Thoughts a prayers go out to the victims. Evidently the car is owned by a guy over in Wylie but they havent released if he was the driver.

Whoever arranged and allowed for that burnout is who is going to be in trouble, not necessarily the driver. I can't believe that they would allow all those people to stand along there with no barracade between them and the car. I see lawsuits coming...

Totally stupid that even happened. That driver should have known better, he should have let off way earlier than that.

you know, everybody loves a burnout including me... and obviously they knew they would be having a drag car do a burnout, BUT PLEASE TELL ME WHY PEOPLE WERE THAT FAR DOWN. At some point some event staff should of had barriers or limits as to how far down the people should be.

Darwin works in wierd ways, but from the get go there should of been some sort of safety crew or limited area for viewing.

Obviously that was a very wide street and looked to be over 4 lanes which is good. but **** did you see how far the people were down the street.

what the f---!!! ... who ever allowed that crap to take place at all should be shot. I don't understand what makes someone think it's okay to do that on a public road when so many regulations are placed at tracks for SAFETY and none of those things are applied when pulling that kind of stunt.

I hope whoever is responsible for that gets what is coming to them. If the driver was in violation of what he was supposed to do then he should be responsible as well but IMHO the person responisble for the event in the first place should face consequence regardless.

My heart goes out to those familes who were affected by this on both sides.
