This cop sees me every single day. I wave to him and he waves back to me every single day. how? because he sits in the pool parking lot not 500 feet from my house.
I even walk my dog and wave to him in person.
my point is that he sees me drive safely every single day.
so today he pulls me over when i make one little minor accident. I rolled through the stop sign at about 5mph.
this douchebag walks up and asks me for license and registration.
i hand it to him, answer "yes sir" and "no sir" ...am so polite.
he sits in his car checking on my record for 25 MINUTES...i kid you ******* not. twenty five minutes.
25 minutes later he comes back with a citation for driving without a license and running a stop sign.
nevermind the fact that my license is valid and not expired, but it's registered in Louisiana and i dont have a texas one yet, i'm working on it.

i dont hate cops by any means.
i whole-heartedly support law enforcement but this type of ticketing is bullshit in my book.
at least i managed to fully lower my drivers side window before he got out of his car and saw the tinting.

I got my tenth ticket about a couple of weeks ago. I've been pulled over about 20 times for random things. There are some officers out that there that understand what a break is and will cut you one. Others think they are doing you and the community a favor by making you pay hundreds of dollars for bad driving...How did you go about your defense on running it?

FWIW, it takes a fair amount of time for those tickets to show on your record, I would hurry up and get the texas insurance and texas license, there is a good chance they won't show up and affect your rates.

Talk **** all you want, you broke the law. You need to understand the difference professional relationships and personal relationships. Sure, he is nice and friendly... but he is also an officer of the law. You broke the law. If you live there, you know there is a stop sign there (strike 1). You also know there is a cop that sits over by there (strike 2). So at what point did your mental capacity to understand things completely break down? You ran the stop sign (strike 3), and you got the ticket. Don't hate on this cop because you got retarded for about 20 seconds.
And yes, I know I posted that I dis-like cops in another thread... but thats why I STOP AT STOP SIGNS WHEN A COP IS WATCHING. If you don't want to get stopped, then don't do **** like that.
On another note, you should be good with your Louisiana license. Its a valid license, no matter what. So I wouldn't worry about that charge. And if you get a TX DL, you should be OK with the insurance companies. I don't believe they check other states for records... but don't quote me on that.
