Question extra key?

does anybody know where I can go to get an extra key made in the dfw area? and round a bout how much am I looking at? also has anybody use the ebay site for the extra key and what's the address? thanks!

its harder to get a key made,if you fo to the dealer its about $60.if it a chevy auto

But an uncut key off ebay and get it cut at walmart.

any locksmith will have the right key. just had one made for my car 96 formula, and a keyless entry remote, for 100 bucks out the door.

Um maybe I'm missing something but I get spare keys made at Ace Hardware for 5 bucks. They already have the uncut keys, and you can even pick a design. I got a chevy key.

YUP... they just put the key in this machine that tells it was code it was, in my case 10.

Cost me like 11 bucks I think? Ace hardware

well damn maybe casue' everybody told me you can't get a key just anywhere cause' of the chip in it? but I will try ACE!!

Ace is one of the few places that has the chip reader. There's only 12 codes

The "chip" in these keys is simply a resistor. You can find out which key blank you need with a simple digital ohmmeter. Use this chart to figure out which blank you need:

You can buy blanks on ebay, but they're still cheap at the dealer. These aren't the $80 transponder keys, but more like $15 blanks. Or you could buy online, and have them cut anywhere.
