60-130 mph event...

60-130 mph event... Had some fun yesterday in the wonderful heat and humidity of Sealy so I thought I'd share...
We had a GTG at Lone Star Raceway for some 60-130 mph runs. With an awesome group of cars and a cool measuring tool...

Most all of the real good numbers for the day were cars only having to make 1 gear change 3rd to 4th. All were force inducted cars, Turbo or Turbo/NOS except for the only Gen II GTS Viper out at the event that was N/A with headers, full exhuast and custom tune. Sounded like it had a cam too but I'm not sure. His best was a 10.4
There was another 'stock' Z out there making some runs. Best was a 9.6
With the gearing in the Z06 2 gear changes had to be made. Made a 7.98 sec run in the 60-130 event but was hazing the tires in both 3rd and 4th showed by the recorded data. Data showed a constant wheel spin especially at 125 mph in 4th. Better tires, better weather = better results...
The data logged a .20sec shift from 2nd to 3rd and .24sec 3rd to 4th, which I thought was strange. Probably picked up the stumble it had in the 3rd to 4th shift that we're trying to figure out.
For the sake of comparison, here are some 60-130 times for some fast production cars:
6.1 - Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
6.9 - Mosler MT900S
7.0 - Ferrari Enzo
7.3 - Porsche Carrera GT
8.9 - Mercedes SLR McLaren
9.1 - Porsche 993 RUF Turbo R (100 octane)
9.2 - Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06
9.4 - Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0
9.5 - Ferrari F430
10.9 - Lamborghini Murcielago
11.7 - Ferrari Challenge Stradale
12.1 - Lamborghini Gallardo
12.2 - Porsche 996 TT
Here was the best run of the day...VERY high HP Turbo Supra (1000+RWHP) on 28" M/T Drag Radials I made one pass with him on low boost (800RWHP).

Peter had nothing but good things to say about you on the Porsche Forum.
I wish we could have made it out there to see how Matt's car does. He is/was sick as hell this weekend (Flu like ****). We need to line you two up when Matt gets his car back out on the street to see how it goes. You got a few hp on Matt but he's close to ~3200lbs with him in the car so it should make it a pretty good race. You going to goto the next event too?
Dennis Jason - 550 rwhp ZO6 - his car is STRONG and his best was 8.0 - I will tell you that I was shocked it wasn't quicker. Dennis is probably one of the best drivers I have ever seen. He shifts crazy fast and has great car control. Back to the shitty conditions - think about this...a 550 rwhp ZO6 will trap 133 or so in the quarter mile (if not faster). A Ferrari Enzo traps around 131. How does an Enzo run 7.0 and the best Dennis could do is 8.0??? **** CONDITIONS!
