Cut stock springs for a 2" drop on C6 19's
#44
Mine is a DD too, and I've running on B+G's so I totally understand you wanting softer springs. I seriously thought about cutting the stockers myself. The only people I have heard say anything bad about them are the ones selling the parts and the ones who have never tried it. The people who have cut them seem to like them.
I decided against it though because I want more rate. I like the handling of stiffer springs plus I do put people in the back seat and don't like to hear tires rubbing. I'm acutally looking to raise mine up a half inch since the road to my house is jacked up from the trucks going to gas wells and the houses being built. That said, I have to change strut mounts on the wife's GA so while I have it apart, I may cut the springs a little to bring it down some.
In the future if you want better handling, then larger swaybars will set you up with out affecting the ride quality.

i thought cutting the springs will cause your alignment to mess up or make the car bounce and make the ride quality suck .

In the 2-3 cars I have ever been in with cut springs..ride and handling was terrible. WHATEVER. saving 250 on springs when you spend over a 1000 on bling just doesn't make sense to me..but to each their own...was not trying to be nasty at all..

yep, not only changes alignment, but the position of the rearend and driveshaft, this is why they make LCA relocation brackets, lowering the car causes wheel hop, no matter if you cut or use aftermarket springs

x100 agree on its a bunch of hear-say......... i heard its not good, so its not good, without experiencing anything on your own. I use my own judgement and do every bit of work on my car myself.

cutting doesnt make them softer, makes the spring rate higher, more stiff. My LG springs are stiff and they are great but if you want a cheap way out without the best performance possible or temporary drop, cutting them would be best, doing this on the v6 i have pictured above, i mean its a v6 so who cares lol
