What is it with misfires around here. That is the 3rd on I have heard of on an fbody within the last couple of months. My guess is going to be a plug wire. The odds of you having a bad coil is pretty slim. Give me a call if you need anything.

I had a similar issue at one time. I replaced plug, wire, and swapped coil. Nothing fixed it. I kept driving it but ordered a new set of injectors. In the mean time I started running Chevron fuel and using injector cleaner and sure enough it went away. Kinda weird but it worked.

mine has had this too. First time I changed the wires and it went away for a while. Now its back, plugs are good had them checked. Car runs fine but back fires bad when cold and flashes the coded when left at a steady speed in 6th other than that its fine the code will just stay on or even go away at times. Dont have a clue either. I had the dealer check it out and told me that i had low compression, changed the heads thinking it might be a valvetrain problem but the code remains so I dont know. Let me know if anything works!

I had misfires on #6 and #8 on my truck and tried swapping stuff around too. Nothing worked. Turns out it was a bad fuel pressure regulator. If the fuel pressure is off, it will cause misfires.
Is it misfiring all the time? Or just at idle? Mine would only misfire at idle.
