just wait till trd releases there super charger for the 5.7 and if you look at any new car they all have some flaws all the other major brands had problems... hell i would rather have a tail gate falling off then deal with gm's broken tie rods.... but agian toyota had a ball joint problem with all there trucks and suv's but why is it that the fj40 are such a prized item in the austrailian out back... why is it that alot of off roaders use toyota axles? because they are built better all companys have flaws and this is there first year in production... so there are going to be some bugs... and the 22r motor i would put up against anything for longjevity (sp) they will run for ever.. i see alot of the old previas with over 300k on them... hell my 87 corolla with 198k on the clock probably gets better gas millage than most new 4 bangers.... 26mpg in the city with a 3 speed auto no lock up no over drive and the a/c blow ice cold most older camrys come in with over 160k and run like a top... and thats a belt driven 5sfe and the older 4runner motor will go for ever the 3vzfe just tune up and timing belt and your oil changes... and your golden.... i have pulled many motors apart that still have the hatch marks in the cly's at 180k..... thats nuts to see it on a chevy or a ford......and just wait till diesel comes out...

why is it that alot of off roaders use toyota axles? because they are built better all companys have flaws and this is there first year in production... so there are going to be some bugs... and the 22r motor i would put up against anything for longjevity (sp) they will run for ever..

I saw the Toyota dually at SEMA, it looked killer. But, it is a CONCEPT and the real one would look nothing like that. Those 22" Alcoa wheels and huge industrial truck axles were only for show. Funny that they had to make it flat black to give it any sort of attitude, most Toyota colors are really bland and boring. I hope they do build it, it is always nice to have more competition in that market, it could result in even better American trucks being built.
Competition breeds quality and performance. We all win.

Thats because it should be compared to a 3/4 ton. It is near the same size and weight, so no duh it would make 1/2s look small. They brag about having big *** brakes and being larger than the other 1/2s, blah blah. If I took a 1500 Silverado and compared it to a Tacoma...I believe you get my point. We don't care how great you think your Tundra is, my Z71 gets the job done for me and until otherwise Ill stick with it.
Although you may/may not like the looks, they indeed out-tow and outlast the 1/2 competition. http://www.mrtrailer.com/07tundra.htm

Compare apples to apples. You're comparing the Tundra to a 3/4 tonhttp://www.mrtrailer.com/07tundra.htm
Besides, the fact is that very few people ever tow with their trucks. Most people buy trucks for using the bed, and their durability compared to cars. That, and they are safer than cars in a collision. If someone was truly buying a truck to tow with all the time, they'd be dumb to look outside of the diesel group.

Supposedly the VortecMax will get the 6.2/6L80E combo for the 09 model year. For those that don't know, the 6.2 has more HP and TQ than the Toyota 5.7.
Who really cares about how much either truck can tow? If you really want to tow 10,500 lbs, you won't buy either truck. Its all marketing BS.....

Compare apples to apples. You're comparing the Tundra to a 3/4 ton, which says alot about this truck. Sounds to me like alot of you guys are all for American made products, I.E....

How are you saying a brand new model will outlast the competition, where are your facts to back this up? If you want facts look at the predicted reliability ratings for the Tundra and even Camry, they are below average now. There are your facts. http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/news...ity/slips.html
IF you want to compare apples to apples then who got a 5 star crash rating and who got the 4? Not the big, powerful, capable truck thats changing it all?
