Also the screen in the MAF works to channel the air into streams removing turbalance and tumble.

so basically what he is telling you is that he doesnt know how to tune a car with a descreened maf because its not stock or close to it?

HAHAHAHAHHAh Find another tuner dude..you've got a 6 speed. Descreening doesnt effect them as much like it does A4 cars.

I'm also looking for a new MAF with screen and my tuner is not Shaner. Garzoni and Lohse recommend a screened MAF as well.
No maf at all is best. Descreened will work too if the person working the tables is capable of tuning cars other then stock ones..LOLOLOL

Mike is all about Marsh's SD tunes, it's ok don't worry to much about him.

Looking at my tables my MAF is doing some weird stuff and actually maxed out. It's worth a shot to see if my tuner can pick up some HP with it, if not I'll sell it to a shaner customer.

SD tunes are fine as well. My car was tuned using LS1 edit, but HP and whatever else is fine as well it just depends on what the tuner has etc. I use an 85mm ZO6 MAF with my setup, and have never had a problem. I also used a ported stock and descreened one on my car, and did the trick where you make it think it is always 59 degrees outside. I never had a problem, and it worked great while my car was mostly stock.

Lol come on guys I know for a fact some of you have seen some of the port jobs of MAFs, and well thats all that needs to be said.

Just because they are a shop doesnt mean much to me anymore. Around here anyone could own a shop and be successful with some coat tail riders.

He's the only one in the DFW area right now that has the most experience with the softwares and these tables.

There are tables to interpolate data into to fix the issue you are having.

How fast has his own car been? And does it drive with no surging....Nah...

There own personal cars speak for themselves. Mine didn't have driveability issues and ran deep 6's on the stock long block...NEXT!

His car has gone plenty fast...And his own personal car is the last of his priorities.. His customers are first.. It's only a baby cam/N2O car its not pro-stock jackass...
But still the OP is looking for a maf , if you don't have one move along..
