Bump for the day.

It seems as though there are a few guys who are interested in this. Want to keep the discussion going for now.

If you guys get around to organizing this, I'd be happy to create a mini-forum for the club located within the TX forum here. But, I need to see serious organizing, plans, and interest first.

I would be interested but it's gonna be tough. This is what the members of the Texas F-Body Association wanted but, as you have seen, we just can't seem to get enough interested people to make it grow. DFW has more f-bodies than anywhere else in the country but most are not "joiners". I really don't know why it is so hard to get this kind of thing organized in DFW. There was also talk of a big GTO club but that seems to have died too. Good luck.

I'll give a word of caution on the treasury bit. Make sure 2 or 3 unrelated people have to sign or be present for any tansaction. It can be a PITA, but it helps keep people honest. I don't mind paying dues but I'd want a sticker for it so I can have some vinyl HP!!!!

I think having the owner of a shop where we could meet that is a member is a large key to this having longevity. If someone is an *** clown then that person can be penalized instead of the whole group. What usually happens is the property owner has no affiliation to the group and the problems become a hassle that they don't want to deal with (and rightfully so) and everyone gets booted for it.

I'm in for this. It would be great to have meet with out all the posturing and mouthing. I usually have to go to car things alone because my wife doesn't like being around that crap either. It would be great to have an atmosphere where she would come along.

If you need help with organization let me kow. I've never done car shows, meets etc, but I do have experience organizing groups and would like to see this take off. I think linking some existing clubs will help also.

Thansks for the support and comments guys. Tony, I'll shoot you a note from time to time once I have established enough interest in the group.

And I agree, on all points... it will not be easy but anything worthwhile has to be earned right?

Keep the suggestions coming. They are very much appreciated. We have a ways to go yet before I see it materializing, but it is encouraging so far.

Keep in mind, this is not "my" group, it is yours. I will facilitate the initial organization and support the group as it evolves.

Like I have been saying, I am down for this.........
What we should do is all the people who are down... Lets start this out slow....
Get a bunch of us to get together @ Gilberts.. Just to get to know eachother and see who is in with this......
And when we get together, we can start discussing what route we are gonna wanna take this to..........

I have experience with car clubs... Not any type of racing car clubs... I have had experience with LOWRIDER car clubs..
But its not much different... Organize meets, organize shows.... etc...

It just takes the combined help of others.... And as for the treasury deal..

How we use to do it was we set up an account that had 3 main people on it...
There was NO bank cards... And we had it set up to where if anyone wanted to withdrawl. You couldnt... You had to have at least 2 people signature to withdrawl.

We had it set up to where any of us 3 could write checks, and of course it was all kept in our records keeping.....

We had it pretty organized.......

So I have alot of ideas on getting this going......

Gilbert you are going to the Huless GTG????? shoot some of us can bullshit about it there also...

Well in a very short period of time I have received comments from several of the guys here. I think it is worth pursuing.

So, at this point I am looking for 2 more people to help get this thing off the ground. I have had 2 guys offer their personal services and time to this. Once I get two or three more guys who are serious about helping to get it going I will move forward.

No need for a huge crew initially... just a few guys to handle some simple tasks so that no one person is slammed with a bunch of tasks. Also, those people will need to be able to help with steering the group initially. It won't require any deep thinking... just someone who is seriously interested in doing this.

Again, thanks for all of your support... let's see whare this thing goes from here.

Oh sure, you got it, uh huh, yep, you betcha. The transmission is free! But the shop supplies, the air you breathe while your here picking it up and the floor space you occupy while you are here talking about it are going to set you back!

Glad to see your in!

I'll begin to work on this in earnest later this week.

Im in and so are a few other buddies. I think the southside meets have been holding strong, even with the cold weather factor.
