Yeah the car wash with the high presure soap is the best thing that I use no special chemicals or anything. Don't worry about anything getting water in it and not starting. Have fun.

I use Simple Green. Make sure the engine is cold and soak the motor with pure Simple Green. Let it sit for a few minutes then use your garden hose and a little bit of pressure to rinse it off.. Does wonders, but sometimes leaves the intake manifold with some white ***** on it- easy enough to fix with WD40 on a rag

Like they said, spray it down with a pressure washer and soap. Then you can use low pressure to rinse it. You can also start it up for a min or so, until it gets just a little heat in it, then spray it down with foam tire cleaner, and wipe everything down. It should look really nice after that.

Diluted Simple Green. I wash it everytime I wash my car which is at least once a week. I don't wrap or cover anything just spray it down afterwards with the hose and air dry it with the compressor.

Lt1 some have the leaking opti never has any issues with either the 94 or the 96 though. 98+ never had as single issue and it is what I do every time you won't have any issues I have never had any need for any other soaps, but if you like, but some will stain alumium and make it look oxidized and I haven't cared to try and see which ones will and won't never had any need. Good luck.

So you've done it right? Look all of the factory conectors are weather pack conectors so as long as you are not trying to blow the conectors apart etc... It doesn't have any effects on the car. These are not the old school vehicles that had distributers and points that had to dry if you got water in them. But hey do what you want I will continue to do it as I have since 1985 with my mothers TPI car etc...

what you need is a bottle of simple green, a tooth brush (for the painted stuff), a wire brush, and about 3 hours.

i went ocd on my trans am a few years and it looked great

but if you don't want to waist that much time a pressure washer will work just remove your air filter and put a bag over tha hole where the filter was to keep water off of it. that is if you have a cold air intake.

You're right, there weather pack connectors, designed to prevent moisture from getting inside, but not to prevent a 1000psi blast from a pressure washer.
I simply stated what I did as a friendly reminder what may happen
