I am about to pick up a set as well. What did you pay if you don't mind me asking. And how often does it actually rain? I would think if you drive cautious then they should be fine. I had a set on my old mustang and they were fine in the rain!

I just had to embolen your question - how often does it actually rain? look outside man! lol. this is houston, it rains like every other couple of days. I bought em off Pavlock. $250 for C5 Z06 chrome replicas with the drags already mounted and they have a lot of life left

just remember you have them on its manageable

you have to realize you dont have that good of a rain tire and drive more careful because of it

Ah I suppose that is true. It just does not seem to rain THAT much to me. My car seems to be always clean thanks to a parking garage!

Ah good price on the wheels, I live C5 Z06's!

I have'em on my 17X11's, and they did fine this morning while raining and on that slick a$$ black top.
never felt squirrelly or even a hint of being out of control..
they even grip better when it's wet when you take off from a light..
but like said above, you cant drive like Mario Andrette, when it's raining, that would just be stupid.

with the Summitomo's I had you couldn't even think of touching the gas when it was raining when stopped at a light.
I like the Nitto555R's only think is the tire's are constantly picking up debri, rocks, pebbles,ETC.... and slinging them up into the wheel wells..
you will hear that for sure.

I went through two sets on the Trans Am in Houston weather. First set was just a pair of 555r on the rear. Second set was 555RII all around. No problem. Loved them except for the fact that I averaged 9-10K miles on them. Just don't get too crazy in the rain and you'll be fine (like dumping the clutch or mashing the gas on the highway - it WILL get sideways on you). And watch the tread depth.

Oh no doubt! Just debating whether or not I was gonna just throw em on back permanently or keep em as track tires Thanks again for the great deal!

Same rule you use on regular tires. If it won't pass inspection, it's time to change them. But the lesser the depth, the worse they'll handle because there aren't as many treads as a regular street tire, so as they get close to the "change them out" mark, the more careful you'll need to be.

I had two near sideways episodes coming out of Louisiana in the rain, but that's because I got overzealous on a couple of lane changes.

Another thing to note, my car was not a daily driver so it got caught in the rain only on rare occasions, but when it did I felt relatively safe.
