Red face More Carnage!

I pulled out my th400 today and also found out that I broke an ear off the bellhousing and that my mount also bent. This all happened back in the middle of September. So, Tranny, Crossmember, Chassis, Driveshaft, and Block were all damaged. You can see in the pics where my driveshadt rubbed against the floor of the cab.

Here is what originally happened, http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...d.php?t=402589

My question is, can the ear be welded back on and can the block also be repaired?

Yeah it can be fixed I have repaired a trany like that when it was together, the block can probably be fixed also, but that I don't think can be done without taking it a part and I am pretty sure about that about 99%. Good luck sorry for your bad luck.

No doubt the tranny case can be welded... fairly certain the engine block can be as well.

I would be glad to help you out with the transmission.

Give me a call and I can lay out some options for you.

Good Luck.

Default Beware Of LS1 Critters!

Looks like one o dem der lil lil ls1 critters done crawled up my motor! It only made it to the rear 2 cylinders area. Thats probably why my cam had scrapes on the rear lobes. It seems like my motor took a dump, literally, maybe more like diarrhea.

Does the crank look like it may still be good or no (seriously)?

Good Luck dude.

Im getting it repainted, dont get all excited. Yes its been down for years. What all is needed?, bout $20,000.

But yeah, I think i may have spilled the coolant in there when I was removing the block or the heads.
The bolt looks like one of those coil bracket bolts. It probably fell when I had the 243 heads installed.

Can I just replace the 2 pistons? Also, is a 6.0L LQ4/LQ9 crank the same as an LS1 crank?

What can I do with the cracked block, messed up pistons, and messed up crank?

If the 30th is such a piece you can give it to me instead of burning it. Consider it a charitable donation. Umm looks like ur in the market for a new shortblock.
