Default HELP!!! I'm having a bad issue

Like the title says I'm having a serious issue with my car right now. I am unable to put gas in it............. I have gone to two different gas stations and when I put the nozzle in and pull the lever it just pops like my car is full of gas. I know it is not even near full it is actually close to empty and it took me 10 minutes to put 2 gallons im my car one cent at a time Also this morning my SES light came on and I have been unable to check what it is yet but I'm hoping it is not something serious. Someone please help if you have ever heard of anything like this.

I'm not sure about the SES light, but I have had similar problems with the gas pumps, but I don't think its the car. I noticed it when my local gas station changed nozzles, I started having the problem you are having. My dad has had similar problems with his truck . All I can suggest is back the nozzle out a bit, and don't go full blast. I generally have to stand there and hold the nozzle and manuever it around a bit before it will pump without cutting off. Good luck.

Are you serious? On new pumps you have to push the entire thing as far in the tank as possible, even farther then just as it sits in. Happened to me once at a Shell station, asked the attendant and she told me. I thought I was the only one.

Happened to me too.....Pull and hold back the assembly at the upper end of the nozzle and tilt the pump down. Just feather the flow. And 15 minutes later, you got a full tank of gas.

like other have said, back it out a little and try different angles. i have even taken a look at the gas funel that you stick the nozzle in to see what angle it's at and try to replicate that degree with the gas nozzle.

i have been to a couple gas stations that have new nozzles that requre you to force it all the way down. the little fume guard actually has a sensor to make sure it's completely smashed.

I noticed the same problems on certain gas stations but really never paid attention to which ones I was at except that I was only concerned looking for the 93's. What worked for me was like the guy above said, move/angle it around. What worked for me was I just turned the nozzle upside down and pumped it that way.

The REAL problem is likely a tank emission component that does not allow vapor to escape the tank as gas enters. This happened to my Avalanche while still under warranty & the dealer had to replace a soleniod or valve in the system. They didn't give me a ticket for the warranty work, so I can't give you the exact name of the part replaced, but talk to a dealer for info. It drove me CRAZY trying to fill the tank until this was done.
Good Luck!

Yes your problem is that Shell and Valero, have new nozzles, they have like a boot on the outside of them, you have to actually push the pump in while pumping to get gas out of the nozzle, this makes it where noone can leave the pump in their cars, it doe help safety but is a pain in the *** because you have to sit there and hold it down.
