some of the misinformation that dudes spread just amazes me.

Wow. 4 full pages of posts, and not a single person has pointed out that you cannot gerneralize the way red-light-camera tickets are handled from city to city.

How the city of Houston has setup their program likely differs from that of Garland or any other city in Texas. Yes, they all have to follow any Statutory laws governing this, so there will be some similarities (e.g. max fine $$).

If it is true that Houston itself has outsourced the entire operation to a company, then his lawyer is likely accurate about not paying it. Although I, like others, am very curious to see if it shows up on a credit report 6 months later.

the city will refer the ticket to a collection company. They will add their fees on it and call, and send you letters. After a while they will sell it to another company which will add their fees and also send you letters.....all of which report to the creidt bureau. statute of limitations do not matter as they will change the account number each time sole......your $75 ticket will end up costing you on your credit, and probably $250. Your lawyer is an idiot if that is what he told you.
