Default Lost the clutch pedal today...

I am affraid the transmision will need to be pulled to have the slave cylinder replaced. Since the tranny will be out I want to change the clutch assembly. Can you provide a couple suggestions on brands of clutches to look at for daily driving? I want grip though. I do not want to put in a stock clutch.

Also, can anyone suggest a transmission shop to get esimates from in the miedcities area (DFW)?

Buy an LS7 clutch, a replacement GM slave, all this will run a little under $600, and then replace it all yourself; the clutch will hold up to 500hp and will be very friendly to daily driving.

I had a spec 3 with a small cam and it didn't last me a year. My Ram powergrip has taken a beating for 3yrs and still ticking. But it's not quite as streeable. Just depends on what you want to do with the car. If you want to keep it mostly stock, I've always heard good things about the zo6 clutch kits. If you want to do it right the first time and not worry about it, have the shop you take it to build up your tranny. Steel shift forks ftw

The clutch went out on our test drive. The seller paid for a new z06 clutch kit and master cylinder. It was $1,150.00 installed at the shop I took it too.

I like it!! We only have about 500 miles on it. You let off the pedal just a little and it starts to grab.

The clutch that Jason at TDP sells is his own. It is just alittle stiffer than stock. The clutch is very similiar to the Textralia OZ700 except it has a better pressure plate. I have had it my car for 2500 miles now and had a spec stage 4 before. This clutch makes the spec look like garbage. Call this number to get ahold of Jason 817-750-2000

Just make sure you budget in a new master. When my 98's original master went out the pedal went the floor and it basically felt like a stepped on a water balloon and busted it. I immediately assumed slave since I had done much of any hydraulic work. Well I got everything done and had no pedal what so ever. So then I went and bought a new master and voila....problem solved.

You can't go wrong with Gilbert @ ACE racing transmissions in NRH or Jason @ Texas Drivetrain Performance in FW. They're both top notch and charge very fair prices.

Thanks for the opportunity to work on your car. It is a nice vehicle indeed!

We installed an LS7/LS2 setup with all new hydraulics and also installed a heat shield for the hydraulic line that was missing... all we had laying around was a unuseable pan from an automatic LOL... Mike made short work of it and the job came out nice.

Thanks for the votes of confidence guys!
