HPD - Cruise to Galveston - Sunday Apr 13
S! LS1Tech Members, Staff, and Guests.
H.P.D. - Houston Performance Driving invites YOU!
The staff is working on setting up a massive G-Town Cruise. (South Coast Cruise) The staff will be doing all it can to bring you another famous HPD G-Town Cruise. This will be open to other crews and forums. Please come out once the date is set and hang with HPD! These type of events are the best way to get to know the members and see what HPD is all about.
I. Outline:
There will be (2) meet locations:
*North side: 10AM w/ roll out at 11AM. Meet up will be at the massive parking lot on 59 N in Kingwood. There is a parking lot on the 59 N service rd just past Kingwood Dr. There is a Texas Road House and Luby's in the lot. If you pass North Park Dr. you have gone too far.
*South side: 11AM w/ roll out at Noon. Meet up will be at 288 S. @ 518 W. In the Hobby Lobby parking lot.
The group will travel down 288 S to Lake Jackson and take 332 E to Surfside Beach. Once at the coast we will turn up the Bluewater Hwy to Galveston. There will be a $2.00 Toll at the pass. Important: There is a pay system we will use to get us off the bridge ASAP. We have used it the last several cruises with much success. Look below for details. Once on the island we will stop for lunch at Salas's Mexican and Seafood. There will be a table ready for +80 people to eat. When the late lunch is finished we will head down to Cherry Hill for a quick* meet up and pics session. The group will not hang at Cherry Hill for very long. After pics we will head back up 45 N to Houston. Break-off when your exits comes.
*Pay System for Toll Bridge* = The Cruise Leader (Troy AKA xtc4us) will pay for the first 10 cars = $20.......the car that is #11 in line will need to get out and collect $2.00 from the next 9 rides = $20.00. Once the person collected their $20.00 you need to let the next person in the chain know they have to get out and collect $18.00 + your* $2.00 = $20.00....it keeps going until we the end of the line. FYI: It will only take about 15-20 minutes to get off the bridge with +200 rides.
Note: EZ Tag does not work*
II. Safety:
There will be a zero tolerance on any unsafe driving. Please do not drive outside of your ability and endanger the life of anyone on the road. There will be HPD Staff members keeping an eye on the group. They will report any unsafe driving to me. First time I will talk privately with the driver. If reported a second time, I will ask the driver to leave the cruise. I'm sure this will not be a problem because it never is. Everyone wants to cruise right? Keep the N20 bottles closed and boost on low.

Just my .02 cents, I done that cruise 4 times and its weaK! The last one HPD did sucked because when everyone pulled out of Academy on 288 they hauled *** once they got back on 288 and since I was stuck at the rear of the pack with other cars at the red light it took about 15-20 minutes of running @ 90-120mph just to catch up to everyone that was already parked at the next stop--> Bukeey's. Dont you guys think its time to find a new cruising route?

If you don't like the it....then don't come.
- Whats a better route?
- How many cruises have you coordinated that were +100 rides?
- If they sucked then why keep coming out?
- Do you want to lead this cruise? This way I can drop my 2 cents and hang back and chill.
- You have a Vett 90-120 is like going 55. Then why did you buy it?
................Think there's a Honda Cruise coming up, you might fit their profile.

As far as this comment goes: - You have a Vett 90-120 is like going 55. Then why did you buy it?
All I was doing was following your rules :https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...828&highlight=
III. Cruise Safety and Rules:
A) Zero racing! This is a fun cruise not a fun run! There will be speed monitors that are HPD Staff Members what will radio any unsafe drivers or rule breakers. Please do not showoff or drive outside of your ability. If I get word of unsafe driving I will talk with that driver on the down-low. If I have to warn the same driver 2 times....I will ask you to leave the cruise. I know this will not be an issue because everyone wants to cruise right!? We have all spent hundreds and thousands of $$$'s and god knows how much wrench time getting our rides to where they are. Please use your heads out there!
B) Keep the N20 bottles closed and keep the boost on low. Thank you.
C) Please use signals at all times.
D) Seat belts at all times.
E) Please keep control of your passengers.
F) Mind your speed at all times. Keep it safe!

Not trying to star anything with you, I know it takes a lot of time and hard work to make these cruises run as smooth as you make them go, all im saying is that it sucked getting stuck at the rear of the pack that last time because when I was trying to catch up it was like I was driving by myself. By the way as I was catching up I ran into two state troopers and slowed down, running alone going 100+ is a lot obvious to a passing officer unlike if your in a big pack. Sorry if my post upset you, as an organizer of a cruise I though you might want to hear some feedback about your cruise from the people attending it, I guess I was wrong. Once agin im sorry.

Use good judgment when attending these cruises.
Its hard to coordinate any cruise with a 100 plus cars, people are going to break off unfortunately the only way around that is to hire a police escort.
(Which we all know is not going to happen)
The main purpose of these cruises is to get people out to mingle with other car enthusiast.
Troy has setup check points
