Default Swollen arms and elbows.. Need advice

Yesterday i worked out vigerously, more then normal, but not to the point of pain. I focused on biceps and triceps for one hour. After i got home i drank 3 scoops of muscle milk. (it calls for 4)

Not sure what caused it, but an hour later my left arm started to get "big" at first i was like aww sweet im bulking up. Not the case, my elbow is now swollen and when i swing my arm it just feels like flab im swingin around. there is no pain involved, but the skin is very tight on my bicep.

As of tonight, i noticed my right arm is following suit and is also swelling up.

Anyone know whats going on? It doesnt feel normal, and the swelling elbow looks and feels funny.

And i dont wanna say its the muslce milk cause ive been takin it for about 5 months now.

you may have over worked your muscles... try doing some light jogging, you might have some lactic acid build up. drink alot of water and just ice it down to reduce swelling.

First problem is your trained bi and tris for 1 hour.. no need for that

Bi ceps are very small...

I would concentrate on your triceps more.. they are 2/3 of your arms and are critical for a big bench.

Sounds like you are overtrained.. I would ice for a bit.. then apply some heat.. and lay off your arms.. and get those legs big!!

Good luck..

Electrolyte imbalance: Electrolytes are the salts in your bloodstream, which must be kept in balance to prevent swelling in the tissues (edema). When you sweat, you lose salt. When you eat too much salt, you body has to work to balance it with more fluid. Either way, you may have swelling. Appropriate use of a sports drink that replaces electrolytes, as well as taking in the right volume of fluid (not too much, not too little) are key to maintaining electrolyte balance

might not hurt now, but like they're saying, you overtrained... you'll likely be hurting a lot more than normal after everything is given time to rest overnight.

that "burn" you feel in your muscles when you work out is lactic acid building up... once you've fatigued your muscles, you'll know. If you go beyond that, you're prone to much more damage than good if you're not careful.

like was stated, use the RICE method, be sure to take in a lot more protein (casein if you have it) before you go to bed, and hope the swelling goes down.

pop an ibuprofuen or two if you have it as well, it should help

Damn man that sucks bad. I've had times where it burned and hurt pretty bad but I seem pretty good with knowing my limits. Funny thing is you said you didn't feel your were pushing yourself that hard so that sucks...good luck and keep us posted...

find something else to do instead of trying to build muscle.

run some laps around town on foot or something.
