I know in my Duramax I could go around 10k on an oil change & I used Chevron Delo or Shell Rotella.
the whole reason i switched to rp is because the new rotella cj-4 does not meet my standards, it doesnt contain enough ash; which a diesel engine loves for the soot protection. rp is the only oil i found still producing ash oil. my oil temperature went down and i avg +1 mpg more since the switch to rp.

rp contains alot of detergents, which will take the wax buildup off of your seals usually put there by other oils. so would i put rp in a 15yr old gas engine with 150k miles that has been running valvoline(ie) all its life? no. chances are the seals would go to leaking.
