sounds like it could be a tire if it is really coming from the wheel well area. I dont think it would be axle bearings.......When I had an axle bearing going bad it made more of a quick "scraping" sound and i could only hear it when i went past other cars.

The sound could also be bad carrier or pinion bearings.

How are they funny? That's just what it sounds like. Tires can come bad from the factory with 0 miles on them.

You could literally move them back and forth, my husband was going crazy trying to figure out what it was, spare tire etc..., speakers, replaced the shocks which it needed, when I did my springs. He noticed it when he was installing the rear springs, they slid over.

how the hell are we funny? We are trying to help you out by answering your question. If you dont agree with what people are trying to tell you then either dont respond or dont ask the damn question.

I told you it could be your carrier or pinion bearings in the rearend. Does it make the noise more when you are on the gas or off the gas? Does that have no bearing on the noise? What? We need more info if you want a more definate answer.

I have had the same problem sounds like..I was told it was my wheel bearing assembly that had gone bad cause everytime I brake it makes a clunking noise but when I go over bump or just drive it doesnt make it so I think you have the wheel bearing problem also on a front wheel..Jack the front of the car up and pull and push on your wheel if one side seems like it even gives a little or makes a slight knocking noise then there lies your problem. If not then I would also check what these other smart fellow ls1techians said

If its coming from the rear wheel well area it is going to be an axle bearing. You can do this your self no problem. The only thing I can guarantee you will run into is you will need another axle. When the bearing goes bad it eats the surface of the axle up. If you need some help I can pretty much tell you just how to do it. I can even show you a picture of what your axle will look like if its bad. You can probly get a good used axle from a member here thats what I did. The parts are pretty cheap all you will need are bearing and seal and 2 quarts of diff fluid and a tube of posi additive. You should be able to get it all for arround $40 or less and a used axle for $100 or less. Just make sure you look at the axle you buy and make sure it is good. Where are you located?

I have BMR LCA's, one of my first mods was suspension before I took the SS out to the track.

Dude! WTF??! I didnt respond in a disrespectful manner why the Fu$@ are you so defensive? I posted to get all the info I could on this issue and I appreciate every bit of it...that is what this community is for...help and support. I appreciate your comment that it could be my "...carrier or pinion bearings in the rearend"

It could also be the LCA's (thank you RG02SS). When I was having my breaks replaced a year ago the mechanic said grabbed the wheel and could "slide it back and forth". I'm just getting around to finding out what it is exactly.

Thank you Mike at G-force, mojolamar and bigfatls6 I am listening to everyones input.
