Help with my lawn. What grass do i have? Ok so we bought this house in November of '07. i bought all the crap (mower, edger, weed eater) to keep it looking neat and don't mind being out there for a couple hours every week. here are some pics of after i get done.

Ok, so i know for a fact its not St Augustine. From all the pics on tha web i'm thinkin its bermuda. can anyone tell from these pics? Biggest problems is what i think is crabgrass growing alot faster than my regular grass and making my yard look like caca a few days after i mow it. Is it infact crabgrass? If so how do i go about getting rid of it? try to pull it out, spot treatment or a whole yard spray? Tried this
, it killed a few of the prickley weeds but didn't do anything to the "crabgrass".
I know jack **** about lawn care. How often am i supposed to watter it? Also my yard isn't very green. What can i throw on it to green it up?
There is one small spot in my yard that is PERFECT green and healthy looking (i circled it in red) i just with my whole yard looked like that.

Bonus s anything scotts, you might wanna pick your mower up a lil bit until you have a good foundation and your weedless. Water alot after fertilization its gonna suck cause your going to mow every 2 or 3 days
lol no i'm not trying to be a *** about it, like look at the first pic, it looks like there is an invisable force field deviding his and his neighbor's house, one is super green full of life and the other..... well that's why this thread is alive...

It looks like you have some st. augustine grass growing in with the bermuda, you might want to pick that out and then fertilize. Also raise your mower up a few clicks and let the grass grow some. And either water early in the morning or late at night when the sun has gone down. Just my .02
St. Augustine and Bermuda is in the yard right now. I have the same thing going on in my parents yard right now with the exception of the crab grass. Just pull it out and fertilize. Don't forget to water after it or do it right before it rains. Do NOT use Roundup on your yard. I can almost guarantee it will get to a runner or two and if it does a big part of your yard will die almost overnight.
