In my opinion, I am fine hearing others - there are people out there making $10/hr having to spend $300 on gas a month. That's ridiculous! I feel awful for those people. Worse off yet, are those who have to deal with the healthcare crap.

I can see why you would be mad at everyone "bitching" about the gas prices...
However, if people didn't bitch and just took it in the ***, apparently like you are
then how would there be any forward motion to change?

It's not just the price of gas, but because of said problem everything has skyrocketed out of control. hell bread costs over $2.00 a Loaf, Eggs are over $2.00 a dozen, Electricity has gone up my electric bill runs between $300.00 to $500.00 a month now you get the picture. Hell I make a good living off the Oil Industry but Damn enough is enough..

Here in San Diego (hippy town) people are always complaining about gas prices. But everyday on the highways everyone is speeding and i haven't seen any less amount of cars or more car pooling for that matter.

Could be worse guys...
In England, they are paying $9/gallon!
Here's the math:
£1.16 per LITRE! (that's 3.75 Litre's to the gallon) = £4.35 per GALLON:
At the current exchange rate ($1.97=£1) is $8.56/gallon.
So, do we have to much to complain about?
4 years ago when I was there, it was £.79/litre ($5.27/gallon @ $1.79/£1).

I have worked for the oil companies for years, All they could talk about is how to get the price of gas up to 5/7 dollars from as far back as 30 years ago...It always come up in every meeting. The gas rationing in late 70's was a bunch of bull ****. Amoco had more gasoline they they could store. The only shortage was CHEAP gas. They held the other gas to make the price go up and they have a new way to do it now.....

My electric company is charging me less this year.. So I think that is making up for me paying more on gas.. This year overall my monthly electric bill has been about 250 dollars less then last year.... I think I know why, but fact being I can still afford the gas.
Not that I want to pay it, but can afford it..
To the post above about England... What really blows is gas in Iran, Saudi, and Iraq are like .80c a gallon.
Now that sucks... From what I have heard from others overseas is we have one of the largest oil reserves in the world, but paying out the *** because of the way we do business. We dont get our own oil, we buy other peoples oil.. GO POLITICS....

I love how the general public talks about the price per barrel like they have a GD clue how much gas comes from a barrel of oil anyway... by general public I mean soccer moms and news reporters lol.

The profit margin on refined gasoline is like 8-10%. That margin is lower than many other products we buy on a regular basis.
And I'm not talking about the service station owners, their margin is much less... sometimes 5-7 cents on the gallon.
The oil companies are operating at that 8-10% margin and we squawk like they have a 50% profit margin.
There's a sea of oil under Alaska. We'll never see it as long as extreme liberals/tree huggers continue to exert the amount of influence that they currently do.
