Actually, I bet that wing serves a purpose. Often, I see beaters like that full of fat people. So fat that it looks like it's riding on the bump stops. The angle of that wing indicates the driver is trying to generate upforce (or whatever the opposite of downforce is). So, when his car is full of fat people, the wing helps lift the rearend back to its optimal position.

You guys should have seen what I saw yesterday coming home, I tried so hard to get a pic with my camera phone but couldn't.
Dude was drivin a White 1999-2001 Ford Stang it had this ridiculous ricer wing with a fart can on a V6. Oh almost forgot the kicker he had cobra emblems on the sides too
I was embarrassed just to see it on the road!
Then when we saw the driver it was a Mexican that looked like he wanted to be Italian. Tell me that's not jacked up!
Of course I am trying to explain to my carpool comrades why I want a shot of this car, yeah they were kinda clueless. When I talk car to them it seems like I am speaking Greek or something. So I broke it down to them this way... dude was taking a domestic and trying to make it an import... That is like taking a Cadillac and making it look and sound like a Porsche, it is just not what God intended machine to sound/look like. Then they got it and laughed.

there's a lime green v6 mustang with dual fart cans and all kind of other really cool stuff that i see all the time by work. he kept trying to race me the one day on the way home for about a mile, and all his mexican buddys were laughing and pointing so i just let it rip, slowed back down and looked over laughing and pointing back. none of them were smiling back, really COOOOOL car though!!
