Ergs between a 600 and liter bike aren't drastic...if you're over 6' you'll be "uncomfortable" on either. 600cc will be plenty....I jumped up from a 600 to a 1000 a few years back. Yes, the liter bike screams...but on the street, you'll get through the twisties just as fast on the 600 as the 1000. Don't be a poser and get a 1000 because it's "faster"....you'll be embarassed if you ever go on an organized/group ride.
If you can't easily wheelie an R6 you don't need a bigger bike, you need to LEARN HOW TO RIDE.
Save yourself some money and buy an SV650....start small, LEARN HOW TO RIDE, embarass squids/posers, upgrade your bike later.

Im really wanting a bike but im trying to figure out which one to get. Ive heard different things from different people ive asked. Ive not ridden motorcycles a whole lot, maybe 2 times. My friends that have bike have told me either 600 or 1000. Im leaning towards a 1000 so i wont outgrow the power but i dont want it to be too much bike for me. Also what brand? im leaning towards yamaha but have also heard that the cbr isnt as fast but has better quality parts. Whats yalls opinion
You should get this, esp. if it's your first bike:

and just how many people that are preaching to this kid about the zx14 and busa as a first bike actually HAVE a bike?? If you pull that shat on a motorcycle based forum, you'll pretty much be banned...a zx-14 or a busa as a first bike is just death. But that's just my opinion...and I've been riding for 3 years.

a buddy of mine just bought a R6. never rode a bike, and his first bike. my buddy with a bad *** hayabusa taught him how to ride in 15 minutes.. he said that he feels like he could have gone bigger.
like i said, girls are out there rollin around in 1000's. so i say atleast a 1000. a 600 i think would be a waste of money. if i were gonna get a small bike and first bike it would definitely be atleast a 750 or 1000 for sure.
