I will say this. The MotoGP guys get kinda close to full potential of those liter bikes. You will be hard pressed to do 60% of what a 600 can belt out on the street anyway. Anything can be fast in a straight line, but I just enjoy my 1000 even though I know I am no prodigy.

Get what is a good deal and respect the hell out of it no matter what it is. All I will tell you is it is smart to ride a bike with your wrist down. Plenty of crappy roads across the US. You hit a bump with your wrist on top it will fly out from under you. Ask me how I know. HAHA!

JETG - Nice to see someone else on here that likes to get low!

Yep this is my second season doing track days, done MSR Cresson, MSRH in Angelton, GSS in Texas City, and TWS in college station. I think last year I did like 5-6 track days. This year so far I have done GSS, TWS 2times, and going on the 4th to MSRH. I am trying to do a minimum of 2 trackdays a month. I usually do all my track days with LSTD.com, know just about all the instructors and the owners. Looking forward to doing ECR, this year and also another cresson hopefully on the 20th of this month. I use to have a 98 SS, and did all kinds of work to it, then a 02 Z06, 04 CTSV with 100shot on it Iforge 20's ect. But in the end, non of that gives me the fun that my bike gives me. IT isnt easy to get faster takes practice and dedication to do track days. But in the end it has started paying off.

Amen. Sounds like several people in this thread need to go through a beginner weekend with RideSmart. http://www.ridesmart.info/
I went through it 2 times because I loved it so much the first time. Instructor for the intermediate class ( which I did beginner both times, hardly beginner if you ask me ) Pretty much conquered MSR Cresson one handed. He was about 16 seconds faster than the fastest in intermediate just using his right hand. I hope to go out and work a corner one weekend so I can ride for free the next.

I run novice, ie the B group with lstd.com. I have not done a ridesmart day as of yet, but I like the LSTD set up. They have been good to me, helps that I know just about all of them. I also know most of the ridesmart people, and Texas Track days. Most of them are on Motohouston.com.
